Teaninich 8 Year is a rye-based single grain scotch whisky. Diageo Since 2001, beverage conglomerate Diageo's annual Special Releases series has highlighted whisky from its diverse portfolio of scotch whisky distilleries. With holdings in the Highlands, Lowlands, Speyside, Islay and the Islands regions, Diageo has a wide range of flavors to choose from for its Special Releases. This year, Diageo included a rye-based whisky from a little-known distillery that has the potential to win over the most skeptical American rye whiskey drinker. Special Releases Through The Years Early editions of the Special Releases series included hyper-aged whisky from mothballed distilleries like Rosebank, Brora and Port Ellen (ironically, all of which have since resumed production). At times, the series has focused on distilleries that produce whisky for blends, such as Benrinnes, Dailuaine, Auchroisk and Teaninich.
