The FTSE 100 ( ^FTSE ) and European stocks ticked higher on Friday morning in London, as traders continue to watch the unfolding conflict in the Middle East and energy prices remain under pressure. Oil prices dipped in early trade but remained elevated — with brent crude ( BZ=F ) futures trading around $103 per barrel, easing from a high of $119, and West Texas Intermediate ( CL=F ) futures at nearly $94 per barrel. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made hints that the country will look to deploy ground troops to try to achieve the country's aims. He also claimed that the strikes have now destroyed Iran's ability to enrich uranium. In a press conference on Monday night he added Israel would "hold off" future attacks on Iranian gas fields after being asked to do so by president Trump. Meanwhile, Trump has rejected the notion of sending US ground troops in. "I'm not putting troops anywhere – and if I was, I wouldn't tell you," the US president told reporters at the
