Related news Ford Motor ( F ) is targeting a May 4 restart in Europe — and a May 18 restart in the U.S. may also be in play, with Ford earnings due. Ford stock popped. Estimates : Analysts expect Ford to swing to a net loss of 10 cents a share from EPS of 44 cents a year ago, according to Zacks Investment Research. Automotive revenue is seen falling 12.2% to $32.7 billion. Results : Ford earnings are awaited. Ford had already warned of a revenue drop of nearly 16% in Q1 as unit sales fell 12.5% in the U.S. and dived 35% in China, amid the pandemic. Last week, the No. 2 U.S. carmaker said it expects to lose as much $2 billion in Q1, far more than its prior estimate of a $600 million pretax loss for the quarter. As losses mount, the focus has shifted to Ford's cash position. The company said April 13 its $30 billion cash balance is sufficient through at least the end of Q3, even if factories outside China stay closed.
