WATN BlueOval SK is reportedly laying off more than 100 workers as it moves toward a new stand-alone company in Stanton, Tennessee. In a statement released on Friday morning, BlueOval SK confirmed that 150 workers will be laid off. The layoffs come after the end of the joint-venture agreement between Ford Motor Company and SK On, the company that was spearheading the creation of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. The dissolution was announced in December 2025. BlueOval says all of the workers who are being laid off will get their regular payments and benefits for the next two months. According to BlueOval, a "core group of highly-skilled team members" will be kept to help build the new company that will be solely owned by SK On. Recommended Stories
