AP Ford Motor Company posted February sales declines Wednesday, and the downturn was not limited to its sluggish electric vehicle business. The Michigan-based automaker reported 149,962 vehicles were sold in the United States last month, down 5.5% from the same period a year ago. The steepest drop occurred in the EV and hybrid sector. Ford sold just 2,122 EVs in February -- down 71% from last year -- while hybrid sales dipped 22%. The F-150 Lightning, once a major focus for the company, moved just 522 vehicles SUV sales were down 2.4% and truck sales were down 9.4%. The Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville manufactures the Ford F-250 to 550 and the Expedition, as well as the Lincoln Navigator. The Louisville Assembly Plant is being retooled to produce an all-electric Ford pickup truck to be produced by 2027. Ford announced the $2 billion investment in August 2025.
