has recalled more than 600,000 vehicles due to faulty windshield wipers. Ford Motor Company has recalled 604,533 because the windshield wiper motor may fail, preventing the wipers to operate properly, which increases the risk of a crash, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Ford estimates that only about 1% of listed vehicles are impacted by the recall. As of Feb. 24, the company received 1,374 warranty claims related to inoperative or intermittent windshield wiper motors. The company was not aware of any reports, accidents or injuries related to the recall, as of Feb. 24, the NHTSA report states. Ford opened an investigation into faulty windshield wipers on the listed vehicles in June 2021 after receiving multiple warranty claims and customer complaints. The investigation was closed, however, in September 2021, because the company deemed the condition an "unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety," the NHTSA report states.
