Ford recalled more than 254,000 Lincoln and Explorer vehicles due to a loss of rearview camera image and certain driver-assistance features, which can increase the risk of a crash, according to a notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall for the multiple Ford models is due to an issue with the Image Processing Module A, which the company wrote might unexpectedly reset, "resulting in loss of the rearview camera image and advanced driver assistance (ADAS) features, including pre-collision assist, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring." "Loss of the rearview camera image and some driver assistance features can reduce the driver's ability to detect hazards, increasing the risk of a crash," the March 19 recall notice states.
