Gilead Sciences ( NASDAQ:GILD ) shares were unchanged in premarket after the company agreed to acquire autoimmune biotech Ouro Medicines for up to $2.2 billion, including roughly $1.7 billion upfront and $500 million in milestone payments, as it ramps up dealmaking following a period of relative inactivity. The move comes shortly after its $7.8 billion acquisition of Arcellx. The deal adds an early-stage T-cell engager therapy targeting autoimmune diseases, described by analysts as a pipeline-in-a-product opportunity with potential applications across multiple conditions.
