electric vehicles, General Motors' board approved the highest-ever salary for CEO Mary Barra. The Detroit automaker said April 20 that Barra's 2025 compensation was $29,895,868 million, up 1.3% or $399,231, from $29,496,637 in 2024. Barra, 64, is one of the longest standing CEOs in GM history and has historically had the highest executive compensation of the Detroit Three automakers. Barra's income and that of other key GM executives are reported annually in a company proxy statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Barra's income is broken down into several categories: $2.1 million in salary she has received each year since 2017, $21,623,970 in stock awards, $4,956,000 in incentive plan compensation, and the balance of $1,215,898 in other payments for items such as benefits, savings plans and insurance, medical or company vehicles.
