On Feb. 4, Ford reported that for the month of January it sold 135,362 vehicles in the United States, down 5.3% from 142,944 sold in January 2025. Sales for Ford's luxury brand, Lincoln, rose 9.8% to 7,102 vehicles sold in January, but sales for the Ford brand dropped 6% to 128,260 vehicles sold. Most analysts have been predicting January sales across the industry would be lower than the year-ago period, citing the severe snow storm nationwide that may have kept some buyers homebound and the fact that January is historically a slower-than-usual sales month, although this January had 26 selling days compared with the year-ago period at 25. "Ford had strong sales in January with gains coming from America's most affordable pickup, the Maverick, and larger SUVs with Expedition, Explorer and Bronco, along with Ranger and Transit vans," Ford spokesman Said Deep said in an email.
