The news comes after the chain already closed 590 stores in the previous fiscal year. In a December Q3 earnings report , the company said it “initiated a comprehensive portfolio review” and identified stores for closure based on many factors, including store performance and market conditions. “We anticipate closing a significant number of additional stores in fiscal 2025,” the company reported GameStop's fiscal year ends Jan. 31. The retailer did not disclose which locations were being eyed for closure, though at least four Western Mass. locations are closing, The Republican reported earlier this week.
