Industry experts expect continued fuel price volatility as long as the Iran War, now on its 24th day, continues. On Monday morning, the statewide average price for regular gasoline in Florida inched lower to $3.934 per gallon, down 1.6 cents from Friday, but remains $1.05 higher than it was when the Iran War began on Feb. 28, according to AAA-The Auto Club. Despite the pause over the weekend, gas prices in recent weeks have risen at the fastest rate in four years both in Florida and nationally. "Global events can hit drivers' wallets quickly and that is exactly what we're seeing right now," wrote Mark Jenkins, the Tampa-based spokesman for AAA in his weekly fuel price update on March 23. "Florida drivers should expect continued volatility as long as global supply concerns remain unresolved." How much have gas prices risen nationally?
