The companies were still negotiating over some of the complexities of a deal following lengthy talks, the Financial Times reported. Amazon is building out a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites to support its internet-from-space service, called Leo. Shares of Globalstar jumped more than 15% in extended trading on Wednesday after the Financial Times reported Amazon is in talks to acquire the satellite communications company, citing people familiar with the matter. The companies were still negotiating over some of the complexities of a deal following lengthy talks, the Times reported. One of the complicating factors is that Apple took a 20% stake in Globalstar in 2024, according to the FT, as part of a $1.5 billion investment to boost the company's constellation and ground infrastructure.
