Offensive guard Billy Schrauth, a co-captain who renounced his final year of eligibility, went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth round with the 160 overall pick. Later on Saturday, April 25, defensive tackle Gabriel Rubio landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a sixth-round pick (210 overall). His father, Angel Rubio, was a seventh-round pick (221 overall) of the Steelers in 1998 out of Southeast Missouri State. The elder Rubio, a career firefighter, was listed at 6-2 and 300 pounds and spent time with four NFL teams over two seasons. Gabriel Rubio's senior year was cut short by a left elbow injury suffered in the Oct. 11 win over N.C. State, when he played 20 snaps. Rubio still finished the year with 13 tackles and half a sack. For his career he had 22 pressures, according to Pro Football Focus, in 799 defensive snaps. Officially measured at 6-foot-5 and 321 pounds, the St. Louis product managed 26 repetitions in the 225-pound bench press at Notre Dame's Pro Day. Ru
