ITV is racing to sell its television business to Sky for £1.6bn following a fresh drop in advertising revenues Dame Carolyn McCall, the channel's chief executive, said the companies remained “actively engaged” in negotiations and insisted that the decline in ad revenues would not affect the price of any deal. It came as the broadcaster behind hits like Love Island reported a 5pc drop in revenues for its television arm in 2025, though this was offset by growth in its production division. Overall revenues remained flat at £4.1bn. ITV confirmed last year it was in talks with Sky's US owner, Comcast, over a £1.6bn takeover of its television arm. But details of any agreement have yet to materialise and bosses warned there was no certainty a deal would be reached. The broadcaster, which blamed Budget uncertainty for a sharp drop in ad revenues at the end of last year, said its performance was strong against a “challenging” market.
