According to USA Today , the wholesaler will open the gas station in Mission Viejo, Calif., which is 49 miles away from Los Angeles. Once completed, it will be the wholesaler's largest gas station, with 40 pumping stations and 20 fueling dispensers. It is being built on the former site of a Bed, Bath & Beyond near a Krispy Kreme, a Dairy Queen Chill & Grill and a Jack in the Box. The gas station will not have a convenience store, but it will have a 17,234-square foot “fueling canopy,” as well as an accessory office/breakroom building for gas station employees, according to documents from the Mission Viejo planning and transportation commission from 2025 The gas station will be open to Costco members from 5 a.m.- 10 p.m. seven days a week. Costco is planning on building a second freestanding gas station in Honolulu, Hawaii, in the community of Kapalama Kai, and it is expected to be completed by 2027, according to USA Today Costco's gas stations have typically been attached
