This article first appeared on GuruFocus New Mountain Capital has pulled the plug on talks with former executive Matt Holt over a proposal that could have reshaped a group of healthcare technology assets inside the private equity firm. In a letter sent to clients late Thursday, the firm said it had decided to stop negotiations after Holt and a group of investors pursued a deal that people familiar with the discussions said could have been valued at around $32 billion. The talks followed Holt's departure from New Mountain late last year after more than two decades at the firm, where he had served as president of private equity. Warning!
