Dive Brief: KeyCorp has agreed to acquire Clearwater Corporate Finance, a U.K.-based middle-market investment banking advisory firm, marking the Cleveland-based company's entrance into the western European market. The transaction will give U.S.-based private-equity sponsors and corporate clients access to European acquisition targets and exit strategies, and European clients access to the U.S. mergers-and-acquisitions market, $189 billion-asset Key said in a news release The deal, which awaits regulatory approval including from the U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority, is expected to close in the second half of 2026. Terms weren't disclosed, but a Key spokesperson said Wednesday the deal is “structured as a strategic tuck-in acquisition focused on expanding Key's fee-based revenue capabilities in the Western European market.
