Wilson also urged Lululemon to immediately declassify its board so all directors stand for annual election, and called for a new board committee focused on brand, product and creative oversight to address what he says is a lack of creative expertise in the boardroom. “My attempts toward a sensible solution have not been reciprocated,” Wilson said in his letter. Lululemon did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. Last year, Wilson launched a proxy fight by nominating three independent directors to the company's board, after the apparel maker announced the exit of CEO Calvin McDonald without a clear successor. The three directors included former On Running co-CEO Marc Maurer, former ESPN Chief Marketing Officer Laura Gentile and former Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg.
