The Companion Pass promo lets any Rapid Rewards member earn a buddy pass for their future travels. With a Companion Pass , you can designate a +1 to fly with you on any future flights you take with Southwest (I'll get to the terms and conditions in a second). Normally to earn a Companion Pass , you'd have to take 100 qualifying one-way flights in a calendar year or earn 135,000 qualifying points. But under the promotion, you need to take just two one-way flights or book a single round-trip itinerary. Here's how it all works: With a normal Companion Pass, you designate a buddy to fly with you on Southwest flights. You can change the designee up to three times per year. Once that person is selected, you simply book your own flights, and then add them to your reservation online or by calling customer service.
