McDonald's is set to invest more than €150m in its Irish business over the next five years to open 25 additional restaurants, according to a RTÉ report. The expansion will also create around 1,750 jobs. According to the report, the fast-food giant began its latest expansion by opening a new restaurant in New Ross last month, which the company is treating as the first step in a multi-year growth strategy. The group intends to add five outlets a year over five years. McDonald's UK and Ireland development vice-president Mike Spencer was quoted by the publication as saying: "The outlook for McDonald's in Ireland is very positive, and we have a clear plan to invest more than €150m here over the next five years. “That investment will support the opening of up to five new restaurants each year - around 25 in total - and the creation of approximately 1,750 new jobs across the country.” McDonald's will mark 50 years in Ireland next year and plans to open its 100th restaurant in th
