Last Friday, however, the chipmaker got swept up in a selloff of artificial intelligence (AI) stocks, falling 10% in a single day, or about $212 billion in market capitalization. That's bigger than companies such as Adobe (ADBE), Walt Disney (DIS), and McDonald's (MCD). This week, I'm looking at some of the biggest one-day changes in market capitalization. I'll show how the stocks performed going forward and if it would have been better to buy the stock or just buy the general market. Mega Caps Making Mega Moves The table below shows the performance of stocks after huge losses in market capitalization like NVDA just experienced. I went back to 2000 and only considered stocks still trading, and looked for those that lost at least $50 billion in a single day.
