"While Tinder rose to explosive prominence on the back of the swipe-based mechanic and promise of fast-paced matching with Millennials, Gen Z is taking a markedly different approach to meeting potential partners," writes Raymond James' Andrew Marok and others in a detailed study. Raymond James initiated coverage on Match with a Market Perform rating. Match's Hinge app, however, is better positioned to cater to Gen Z, Raymond James finds, as it caters to finding more meaningful relationships over casual hook ups. "Data suggests that younger users prefer slower-paced relationships, often meeting partners from their friend groups rather than strangers," Marok notes. "Match has invested in a brand refresh at Tinder and is in the process of revamping the product/feature set to cater to Gen Z (particularly women)."
