This article first appeared on GuruFocus Vail Resorts ( NYSE:MTN lowered its full-year outlook after what the company described as one of the weakest snowfall seasons across the western US in more than three decades, a development that has limited available ski terrain through much of February. The Broomfield, Colorado-based resort operator now expects fiscal 2026 net income of $144 million to $190 million, a step down from earlier projections of $201 million to $276 million and below analyst estimates of $237 million. Chief Executive Officer Rob Katz described the winter across the Rockies as the most challenging the company has experienced, though he indicated the financial impact may have been partly softened by Vail's advance commitment strategy and resource transformation initiatives.
