With parent New Fortress Energy having agreed to restructure its debt obligations under UK Law, speculative investors are seemingly placing their bets on some sort of settlement. However, Golar LNG Partners is not part of the restructuring plan. As a result, I would expect the status quo to remain unchanged. For my part, I would expect the Preferred Units to continue trading on the OTC Expert Market with distributions remaining suspended for the time being. However, with most of the damage done already, even the remote chance of a near-term or long-term settlement provides sufficient option value to reiterate my "Hold" rating on Golar LNG Partners' Preferred Units.
