However, if you're in a pinch and need to use a credit card to make your minimum payment, you can take a cash advance and use the cash to pay the bill. However, this can be quite expensive and might cost you more than the late payment would have. What is a cash advance and how does it work? A cash advance is when you use your credit card to get cash or make cash-like transactions.
