Adam Sandler is shooting down a viral internet story claiming that the "Happy Gilmore 2" star had to rescue his daughter from a snobby Chanel store. Sandler, 59, tells USA TODAY he was baffled by the false story from TikTok, which alleges that his casually dressed daughter Sadie, 19, was rudely dismissed while shopping for a Chanel handbag – prompting him to rush in and drop $300,000 on luxury bags. "That was one of the weirdest, dumbest, 100% made up things," Sandler says, speaking from the Santa Barbara International Film Festival red carpet on Thursday, Feb. 5. "It was very odd." The "Punch Drunk Love" star says one of his friends even texted him to find out the details of his purported credit card-vengeful trip to the Chanel store. "I said, 'What are you talking about? It's 100% nonsense,'" says Sandler. "I don't know how that (expletive) happens."
