March 17, Since the latest round of conflict in the Middle East broke out, international oil prices have risen by about 40% due to severe disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. However, on Monday local time, several developments helped ease concerns over oil supply, and prices pulled back overnight. WTI crude futures settled at $93.5 per barrel, down 5.28%. Brent crude futures in London settled at $100.21 per barrel, down 2.84%.
