Procter & Gamble shares dropped almost 3% Tuesday before paring losses after Chief Financial Officer Andre Schulten warned of a "tougher context" for P&G's U.S. business. The consumer has grown more cautious, and the government shutdown and loss of SNAP food-assistance benefits also impacted sales in the current quarter, Schulten said at a Morgan Stanley retail conference.
