Pcarmarket originally emerged as an established name in the auction world the better part of a decade ago, following the almost bewildering success of undisputed industry leader Bring a Trailer . BaT, as fans call it, now supports hundreds of auctions per weeks, and the easily calculable finances of such a sprawling enterprise spawned plenty of startups eager to get in on the craze. Some survived, others flopped. Probably the best story arose when YouTuber Doug DeMuro leveraged his audience's support into an up-and-comer called Cars & Bids to challenge the elephant in the room—before taking on an injection of investment and, himself, then promptly purchasing a Porsche Carrera GT valued well into seven figures.
