WWJ says it's 'not going anywhere' as CBS reveals plan to end radio news [USA TODAY]

WWJ-AM (950) posted an item early Friday afternoon, March 20, on its Facebook page about the CBS News decision to shut down its radio arm, which provides service to Detroit's all-news radio station and nearly 700 others across the United States. The Motor City's all-news station clarified that "this means WWJ Newsradio 950 will no longer have the CBS national news at the top of each hour, after May 22." Later, the station posted a link on Facebook to a "note from the newsroom" to make it clear that a closure is not happening at WWJ. "The first thing to know is that WWJ Newsradio 950 in the Detroit area is NOT going anywhere," it wrote in a note from the newsroom linked to the Facebook post, putting that key statement in boldface type.
