The chairman should be held accountable for what Glass Lewis said is his dismissal of shareholder concerns on climate risk management and not disclosing enough information on the subject, the firm said in a note to clients. Goyder is stepping down as Chairman of Qantas following a series of scandals at the airline, which may cause some shareholders to "find his accountability for oversight failings relevant in assessing his suitability as the chair of Woodside," Glass Lewis said. The recommendation comes after Australia's top oil and gas producer has been ramping up production of liquefied natural gas, sparking criticism from the Australian Centre for Corporate Responsibility and others for disregarding climate risks associated with the strategy.
