Several of our holdings in the European banking sector contributed positively, reflecting the more favorable operating environment for the sector. Notable detractors during the period included German defense company Rheinmetall, as signs of progress toward a Ukraine/Russia peace deal caused defense-related stocks to give back gains. We remain positive about the outlook for European equities, as the asset class combines exposure to attractive global trends alongside a potential domestic economic revival.
