Can New Enquirer Owner Charles Cohen Breathe New Life Into Tabloid? Getty Images Cash-strapped magazine publisher American Inc. (AMI) said it plans to sell The National Enquirer and two smaller sister publications The Globe The National Examiner for $100 million to entrepreneur Charles Cohen, a business associate of its CEO David Pecker. Cohen’s purchase price doesn’t make sense to me. It is comparable to Meredith’s 2018 sales of Time magazine for $190 million and Fortune magazine for $150 million.
