The concept of 'software-first' is dramatically transforming a decades-old industry and its supply chain. An effective SDV strategy is not about recreating the wheel. OEMs have invested in their priority technology platforms and can't afford to start from scratch with each new vehicle. It's no secret that OEMs base their new models on the same technology platform and build on top of them to add new customization and features. As the supply chain continues to evolve, there are three areas that help promote success. First, OEMs need to align with partners that embrace modularity and define use cases, consumer behavior workflows and user experience scenarios. Second, interfaces must be identified and specified to the connection and interoperability of the hardware.
