Seagate, AT&T, and Six Flags suffered stock hits between 11% and 18% last week, pushing the shares lower but the yields that much higher. Investors flock to high-yielding stocks for income, but they also sometimes assume that chunky dividends make an investment less risky or volatile. Things don't always play out that way.
