revised effort to take Toyota Industries Corp private, arguing that the higher offer still undervalues the business and could warrant broader shareholder resistance. After Toyota lifted its bid to 18,800 per share, a 15% increase aimed at easing minority investor concerns, Toyota Industries shares moved as high as 19,255, a market response that may be reinforcing calls for a richer premium. Elliott said the revised terms remain very substantially below fair value, estimating the company's worth at more than 25,000 per share, and said it does not plan to tender its stake while encouraging other shareholders to withhold support.
