TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanné told CNBC in an exclusive interview that the world has “never experienced” refining margins at their current levels. A major player in the global LNG market, Pouyanné said he can fulfill current orders due to its diversified global portfolio, but if the war drags on,European natural gas prices could spike to $40 per million British thermal units this summer. TotalEnergies struck a $1 billion deal to scrap its East Coast wind farms, and invest the money in other U.S. projects. “I prefer to allocate my capital to technologies which are more efficient, which give affordable electricity to customers,” he said.
