Michigan women's basketball advanced to the third Sweet 16 in program history after blitzing North Carolina State in the second half at Crisler Center, blowing open a tight game and winning, 92-63 , on Sunday, March 22. Olivia Olson, U-M's All-American sophomore wing, sat most of the second quarter, didn't score in the first half, then scored 11 in the third to finished with 27 to lead U-M. After struggling to shoot from deep in the first half, the Wolverines started hitting beyond the arc and blew the game open. Yet defense is what swung everything. Led by guards Syla Swords (26 points), Mila Holloway (13 points) and Brooke Quarles Daniels who, at 5 feet 7, is often the smallest player on the floor, and often the best offensive rebounder.
