The Wolverines took care of their first two games in the 2026 Women's NCAA Tournament, and punched their ticket to the next round with a 92-63 win over 7-seed N.C. State in the second round on Sunday afternoon at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor. Now the 2-seed Wolverines will leave the comfort of home and head to Fort Worth, Texas, where they await the winner of Monday's second-round game between Louisville and Alabama. The 3-seed Cardinals are a 7½-point favorite against the 6-seed Crimson Tide (noon, ESPN) in Louisville, Kentucky. This is U-M's third Sweet 16 appearance in 14 seasons under coach Kim Barnes Arico. The Wolverines, in the program's 45th season, had never previously made the Sweet 16 before doing it in back-to-back years in 2021-22. Michigan lost in the Elite Eight in 2022 to Louisville, .
