Then, the news broke when an email arrived on Wednesday, Dec.10, from the Michigan athletic department: “ U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated , with cause, effective immediately,” according to a statement attributed to Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel. “Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.” So, while it seems stunning and surprising – for the news to pop on what seems like a random day in December, a week after the early signing period and three days after the Wolverines found out their bowl berth – it's not surprising to many.
