Vance (R-OH) addressing the lawmaker's concerns about a foreign entity controlling the supply of U.S. ammunition. CSG has made an offer of $1.91B for Vista Outdoor's ( VSTO ) ammunition business, currently under approval from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S., known as CFIUS. To help secure approval from CFIUS, CSG gave assurances that the business will remain in the U.S. and maintain an uninterrupted supply of ammunition to American customers. Vance, however, sees the acquisition as a risk to U.S. national security. In a letter to the U.S. Treasury Secretary, who also serves as the Chair of CFIUS, Vance urged Yellen to block the sale to CSG due to its alleged ties to American adversaries, including the inner circle of Russian president Putin. Vance accuses CSG of conducting “reckless” arms sales and industrial espionage. In response, CSG CEO Michael Strnad wrote to Vance and expressed his shock at the “false accusations” of wrong-doing and connections to Putin. CS
