Paramount altered its offer Monday with a personal guarantee from Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison backstopping $40.4 billion in equity funding for a deal. Tendering at $30 may suggest shareholders prefer Paramount's all-cash bid or think Paramount's deal is more likely to gain regulatory approval.
