The retailer said the experience is scheduled to debut in the US within Gemini, followed by a phased international expansion. Under the arrangement, the service will be developed by Walmart and accessed directly through Gemini using the Universal Commerce Protocol. The initiative is intended to present Walmart and Sam's Club products both online and in-store when they align with user requests, including seasonal needs or category-specific searches. Walmart incoming president and CEO John Furner said: “Partnering with Google to bring the Walmart experience directly into Gemini is another step toward creating seamless shopping experiences for customers and members that are more intuitive and personal than ever before.” During conversational interactions, Gemini will be able to draw from Walmart's inventory, enabling users to narrow down options through successive queries.
